After EGR delete questions about intake now

Ok, bare with me and I will try to describe what I have been questioning.

I did the egr delete with the intake pipe at intercooler. FLO pro egr delete.

I noticed when I removed the EGR valve there was all kinds of soot/crud at the intake opening which then goes to my turbo.

Looking at the exhaust flow from ford, I am confused.

I see there is still a big tube that goes from the exhaust( guessing) down to the intercooler. THen air flows up through intercooler into the factory intercooler tube then into the new tube then into the intake where all the soot is then to turbo.

I am questioning did the egr delete help with the soot problem going into intake or just the coolant leak if egr fails.

I feel better knowing I do not have to worry about an EGR failure and have coolant in the block for hydrolock.

Both....exhaust gasses go throughout the egr coolers to the intake ( hence the name) and the CCV (crankcase vent) allows oil "mist" to enter the intake and combined with the exhaust gasses which have soot in it it causes the mess in the intake manifold. if you deleted the coolers , delete the ccv too.
