HPOP Air Test Help- What size are the ICP threads??

I got a no start again. I changed from 5w40 back to 15w40 oil, but it appears the damage has been done. Plenty of pressure on a cold start but barely any when warm. I want to do an air test but can't figure out the size of the ICP threads so I can build an air valve. Anyone know what size I need or is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!!

BTW, I have an old ICP sensor that I took to the hardware store to match threads but it was a waste of time.

Do you have a hydraulic shop near by?
The threads should be metric.

M14 x 1.5 if memory serves me right. I will have to look tomorrow and see exactly, but I believe that is right. I found the fitting I needed to test it in a oil pressure test kit at harbor freight. Here is the kit. Engine Oil Pressure Test Kit

If you buy that kit you should know that they glue the gauge
into the adaptor on the end of the hose. I used the kit for other
things and needed to remove the hose to add a "T" that is how
I found it's glued. With a bit of work I did get it to come apart.
Now I have this nice tool that has a valve at the gauge so I can
bleed the air out of the hose.

M12 x 1.5. It's the same as the fuel pressure test port.

I have to take responsibility for the M14 "mis-information". I posted that awhile back and it was in my spreadsheets ..... thinking the early model year sensors had the larger threads.

Thanks for the correct info Tim!!

I think I'll look at a heavy equipment place here that might have something, otherwise to Harbor Freight I go!. Thanks for the help. BTW, Bismic, in your instructions for troubleshooting the HPOP I seem to recall that I can't just pumpair into this thing, that I need to set the IPR prssure or something. Could you refresh my memory on how exactly to do this?

I believe the procedure is to get an old IPR pigtail and plug it in to the IPR so you can apply 12v externally (for under 30 seconds at a time or you'll mess up the valve) unless you have software that allows you to close it manually.

Apply air for a minute to blow all the oil out of the rails, close the IPR, apply air again, listen for leaks.

So it sounds like the ipr is what will let my air into the system to test it? I guess I thought since I have the icp on the valve cover, i could check leaks up to the HPOP before needing to open the ipr? BTW, harbor freight had that kit and home depot had the brass fittings to make an air inlet.

Sorry Mark, I replied before I saw your last post. I watched the video. Now it all makes sense and I feel like a dumb**s. I don't have an IPR pigtail and don't have the time to wait for the neat little tool you linked. Any other ways to command it closed? I don't think my auto enginuity will do that.

I will try the AE thing Monday as I left my laptop at work. Might go to the junkyard too and yank an IPR wire out to make a pigtail. Feel like taking some photos of my engine compartment and posting them. I looked in there to the IPR and saw the wire, but also saw areas where the harness should be strapped in and is not, loose stuff, etc. Kind of ticked me off at the guy who was wrenching on this thing for me in the past. If I do get into this thing I might need some help putting things back where they are supposed to be, but will post new thread for that. Thanks again for the help and info.

Thanks for the link

Mark, thanks for the link PROCEDURE TO PRESSURE CHECK THE HPO SYSTEM W/ SHOP AIR (100 psig)

I hadn't seen that one before. My truck just died yesterday with another HPO leak (warm - no start). This will be good reading before tearing into it again.
