2012 srw F350 GVW?

was toying with the idea again of buying a new F350. Was on Ford's site building my own and they have a 10,000 GVW option for it? I thought the F350 already had a higher GVW than that stock? And i also thought the F250 had the 10,000 thats why the F350 had a higher one?

and when i click on the 10,000 GVW package it doesnt change the payload or towing so is it just a mistake on Ford's web site or does the 10,000 GVW package actually change a F350 srw truck in any way?

i knew a F350 was higher than 10,000, so why would Ford offer that on a F350 then?

this is what im planing on getting, now before any one asks why im getting a XL as my daily truck thats not for work heres why. When i bought my 2004 F350 i didnt order what i wanted, my current truck was going to be my last "new" truck either untill it would be totaled or stolen etc. The 5.4 is ok but im soso with it, the ext cab is not enough for my family, when my son turns 18 hes 6 now im moving out of this crap state of new jersey and moving out west somewhere where i can hunt and fish, ride dirtbikes before im too old to do so. I plan on lifting this new truck so the rims and tires are not needed to be fancy from the get go, i plan on hunting wheeling so i dont need carpet, cloth seats my new truck will get neopreme seat covers, the stock bumpers are being replaced with Road armors with a front winch.

2012 F350, XL Crew Box, 6 3/4' bed, 6.2L, auto with tow haul, 4.30 electronic locker, snowplow prep package, sterling grey, engine block heater, trailer brake controller, roof lights, manual tow mirrors, vinyl bench seats

so basically i stay with my current 2004 that has 93k as of today, that i really dont like the 5.4 motor, i hate the ext cab, it has that junk esof system, take my truck add a vinyl floor, add Road armor bumpers and winch, add a locker tothe rear, install a lift and tires, and hope the motor and trans last another 12 years! Or just buy this new truck thats what i want, add bumpers, winch and small lift that clears 35's and be done?

My 2012 F350XL 6.2 Reg Cab 4x4 says 11,300lbs. I get screwed in Ma. because of it. I wish I knew of this rule before hand because a 10,000lb package could have saved me a couple hundred dollars a year. Go figure.

The 10,000 GVWR option is a no cost option designed to make it easier for folks to purchase an F-350 and register it in states where there are higher license / registration fees for vehicles with GVWRs exceeding 10k.

Mine has an 11,500 GVWR.

Depends upon the state and their respective registration laws.
