Question 2v or 3v

Hi All....I have just purchased a used 04 F250 SD with a 5.4L Triton engine, but am unsure if it is a 2v or 3v. How can one identify which engine is in the truck?
Thanks
Dave

You could either find photos of 2v and 3v engines on the Internet and look at your engine, or look at the articles/specs section below the title bar of this website. Find the specs for your truck and they will tell you.

Here is the spec page for a 2004 F250 which shows that you have the 2V engine:

2004 FORD SUPER DUTY SPECIFICATIONS

Alternatively, there will be an engine code in the VIN which I presume differentiates between the 2V and 3V engines. Do some searching of this forum and I bet you'll turn it up.

You are very welcome, Dave.

This is a great forum for information, and spending some time here can really educate you about your new-to-you truck. Using the search function can turn up a lot of answers for you, and the specifications section is very handy as well. Good luck with your truck; it should last you a while.
