found my noise in the bellhousing and .........

welp i got under the 52 and dropped the dust cover , and seen something rather odd . had the wife come out and articulate the clutch pedal . sure enough the clutch disc is seperated in the middle ! never seen that one before . where it looks like it was bonded together is what i'm talking about . so i geuss were gonna replace a clutch sometime , and all the other little trinkets therin ! on a " im getting ticked note " i was out riding around in her and enjoying the daylights outta it , came home shut her off in the drive . went in and kinda picked up my mess and swept it out { the garage } . well when i got back in and fired her up i'll be da--ed if the right front brake wasn't locked up again !!!!!!!!!!! i think i'll just yank it's flatty out , and use it as a temp in the 53 , bolt it back together and rewire so i can drive it till i'm done with it's new frame , and suspension and it's flatty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyone want a two owner 52 customline body , or maybe i'll just beat on it with a BIG ford wrench !!!!!!!!!!

mt as she was working the clutch the tranny side face was moving and the front was not . push in and they would come together . im not kidding you . the car goes into gear very easily , does not slip , i left a few " marks " on the roadway to test it . something is goofy . i'm just gonna pull it apart if i don't beat it to death first . it sat for 3 weeks , so i'm wondering if it didnt rust to the flywhee as suggested ,l then somehow " broke " when i fired it up again . dunno all i know that's the kind of goofy luck i have right now . almost afraid to raise the hood or even think of touching one of the vehicles !!!!

I don't see how that's possible?! AFAIK the two sides are riveted to the same pieces. Well, is pulling the trans a big deal in the cars? As I recall they have an X-frame, right? At least it's not a closed driveline. Hey, take it over to Bob's and use his lift!

HHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!!! not !!!! bob's lift . yep if the dain brake issue would resolve itself i'd drive it up to him !!!!!!!!!!!!!

....two birds with one stone...

Wow, Bob's going to be busy

hahah !!!!!! bobby the bad part is i actually thought of that out of frustration !!!!!!!!! not good when we think of brainless fix's like that !!!! i have done that too get 'em home for repair before though ........... gonna pull the master cylinder on it again , and blow the lines out after opening the bleeders , on the brakes , and do it once again . as i said i'm just gonna buy a new clutch , pressure plate , throwout bearing , pilot bearing etc. and be done with it . this ol' girl was driven by the owners great , great , grandchildren to learn how to drive in the 60's as teens so who knows what kinda abuse that clutch has seen , then you got this fool in springfield that somehow was getting his jollies doing burnout's with a flatty in front of his house so ................. thanx for the input , help and advice , and such fella's as i know it can be old hearing this stuff

I am confused about a couple things.

1- The vehicle with the clutch issue, is this a 1952 Customline (sedan) or a pickup?

2- When you see something coming apart in the clutch, is the the pressure plate face to clutch disk, or is the disk itself separating?

Can you post pictures with the separation and without the separation?

it's a 52 customline , the stablemate to my effie . the disc itself is seperating as odd as it seems and it must not be all the way around as it sure isnt slipping , but irregardless it's going away as soon as possible . no pics , but as i said i laid under the car with the dust pan off and had the wife work the clutch and i observed the flywheel side isn't moving but a little bit and the the steel center piece and the tranny side are , na dyou can watch them separate . weird i know . as i said must not be all the way around . she sat for 3 weeks and prior to this no issue . so all i can assume is it rusted to the flywheel as suggested and maybe some of the rivets pulled through when i finally fired her up again { always push the clutch in just out of habit } . dunno never seen that before and thought i'd run it pas everyone to see if they had . welp back to work now .
