I had thought about getting one of those tailgate locks. How does it work? Does it stay on all the time or come off when you unlock it? What it difficult to install?

hey texas guy. I think the lock is awesome, it stays on the tailgate for good once you install it. comes with the lock and a mechanism that bolts on the scissor mechanism inside the tailgate. Took about an hour to install, just a matter of taking the tailgate apart and putting it all back. I would get one ASAP the company stopped making them for our trucks just newer ones, comes chrome or black got it at National Parts Depot online for $56
