Question about poor man's FIPK install...

Just picked up another airbox out of a Wrecked '99 F350, and thought I might cut it and do the poor man's FIPK mod, since I already have the K&N filter. Question is, after installing this mod, do I need to disconnect and reconnect the battery before I restart the truck in order for the computer to learn any new settings? I had seen a couple of posts stating this needed to be done, but they were pretty old.

I don't know why you would...but then again...I don't know why you wouldn't. Couldn't hurt... I mean, it's just a darn air filter.
