if they built it right they wouldnt do it... but seems like its a lost art anymore...

i dunno how bad his were... but figured id burn the sweeper log... saw a thing on tv awhile back educating people on the dangers of creosote build up and how the creosote is flammable in itself... not only flammable but is what causes many of the house fires started when burning a fire...

Yeah creosote build up can be dangerous in a fireplace.. Especially if the chimney liner is broken.. That enables the fire to get into the house

the show talked about how a creosote fire can burn hot enough to melt the chimney liners themselfs...

I don't know, but this website says it's normal and to let it smoke..

yup... lol i went to the bathroom and came back to find the log re-lit itself... now its flaming again lol...

The closest thing I have to a fireplace is a fire pit in the backyard.

No I dont Shawn. We have a forced air system that uses natural gas. It also has central air conditioning.
