Aftermarket HPFP? (Sorry)

Hi Guys,

I am really sorry to feed this fire but this is bugging me.
Does anyone have an aftermarket (better) HPFP in the works to replace the bosch? I can't find one anywhere (well google can't so I am out of options). Are the WV guys with all the issues (I know nothing about) just putting the same pumps back in?

If in fact the pump is flawed (I am not saying it is and I do not have my head in the sand) a HPFP failure for me would suck. I am tuned and I would be paying for it. I don't have an issue with that.

But if I spend 12k and in fact the pump is flawed it will KILL me to put the same pump back in........

Thanks

I guess it will take a bit of time... like you can get aftermarket VP44s and CP3s now, but they probably weren't available back when those were first introduced.

If Google can't find it, it doesn't exist.

Somebody, and I think it was EpicCowlick, opined in an earlier thread that the aftermarket would be the arena in which a better HPFP would appear...and I would agree...and I wonder what will happen when tens of thousands of these trucks get past 100,000 miles. We are seeing these failures at 2500miles to 35000 miles. There is no pattern. When the issue materializes, in any size sample, and the warranty is expired...that $10,000 to $12,000 bill is going to make some people very angry...

Regards

Can crappy fuel affect anything else?
Injectors?
If one day there is an aftermarket HPFP and we install it, we'll still have crappy USA fuel.

The poor fuel does not seem to bother the injectors. I did have an injector replaced but it was due to a known circuit board issue.

Regards

I think it is a valid concern from Darren...after all it would be an out of pocket expense for him any way you look at it due to all the upgrades. With all the buzz about the failures lately, and him loving his truck so much, I would be surprised had he not had those concerns.

I have those concerns for my future purchase..lol

+1!

That's a good question, but remember that the aftermarket isn't going to provide something that the market won't support. And despite the recent hysteria I haven't seen anything suggesting that we are going to see mass HPFP failures that would create such a market.

Thanks buddy.

I really, really, really hope we do not see mass failures and need the aftermarket to support a pump. I will be more than happy to keep the one I have.

Steven and Tom, you guys are just mean, I thought you guys were my frineds I can't hang my head in shame, it's to dangerous when doing this:

Allright Tom, I hate to be the source of any negativeness around here. My question is answered, we can go ahead an close this one.

On another note. The boys will be running a truck this year (sorry about the bow tie). 500 CU.IN. 900 hp BBC runs 8.5's. They are selling one of the Camero's but I am not sure if I could afford the divorce...

Ford needs to fix the issue period. There, I said it. Now lock this sucker and lets go play with our trucks

I wish fuel testing was near the cost of OA...oh well.
And no, my factory HPFP isn't going anywhere.
My next filter change here in a few thousand will give me a good idea the quality of the fuel in this area.

We need to get folks to start cracking open their fuel filters after they change them and inspect for metallic debris. I'm close to a change and will definitely do that. This would be worthy of a poll thread that says something like, "Did you find metal in your fuel filter?" YES/NO.
