Back in 1996 just to be different. SuperCharged 5.0 Ranger that would wax a twin turbo Porsche and still get 26mpg on the highway and run 13.0 @ 113mph with these stock skinny tires with major traction issue thru 3rd gear.
Tried to make it look like it belonged there. 1st year of OBD II was something I had not thought about before the truck purchase. It all worked out.
Oh, Yeah the timing boost control was hidden in glove box and the MSD was hidden in place of pass airbag. Wonderful truck. (the 5.0 was far from stock)
This truck was featured in a Ford Racing Tent at a Goodguys show and also Barrett-Jackson auction.
These pics were taken 10 years later when it had 26k miles on it. It no longer looked NEW fresh but still nice after all that time and miles.

ND Ecoboost
Some truck peeps are going nutso over this engine, installed in F150's beginning with the 2011's. They're also gullible, believing FoMoCo's (EPA) exaggerated MPG claims...forgetting that their mileage will vary.
But, when you consider that these new F150's can weigh over three tons, and...
The fact that the Eco Boost's puny V6 is about 216 cid, that turbo's have a nasty habit of getting clogged up with carbon, how long will this engine hold up in these oversized tubs?!
The salesman I bought the tub in my sig pic from, began the Eco Boost sales pitch the second I told him what I wanted.
But, he never got past his first sentence, cuz I told him the F150's gotta have the 5.0L .. or I'll buy a new Tundra w/the DOHC 5.7L. He never mentioned the Eco Boost again.
Just curious as to what made you buy a unproven ecoboost in a veh that weighs 4000lbs. I have been actually looking at escapes and the fusion with the 2.0 eco.
I have actually considered dropping in a 2.0L Eco into my 66 F100 for a driver for my daughter.
