Well, I have a radiator on its way to me now. I should get it by Monday. I did this about 5 years ago and I remember the one issue I had was getting those tranny cooler lines off. The rest of the job was pretty straight forward. Just to make sure, I have to turn them counterclockwise to loosen them right? I just want to make sure so I don't end up tightening them even more to start out. I've been taking a big risk driving this truck around like this, but I haven't had a choice until now. Luckily, the coolant has somehow stayed out of the tranny fluid so far. I keep checking it and it other than going down a little at a time it hasn't shown any signs of coolant in it. Crossing my fingers that it holds out a few more days. Anyway, thanks for any advice that's been given to me so far.

Yeah right, nothing special since your junking the rad anyway I wouldn't worry to much about it. you might want to use a line wrench though if you have them to keep from rounding off the fittings. What I have found works well for plastic rad's that I need to save that have stuck lines is this stuff called freeze and release. Using heat wont work since it will melt the plastic.

Good advice, thanks. I'll pick some of that stuff up. I remember that I had such a hard time getting those lines loose the last time that I had to use a pipe wrench to break them free. I've had this radiator around the same amount of time as the first one, so it'll be interesting to see how much of a struggle that will be. Hopefully that stuff you recommend lossens them up. Thanks.

use it just as it says on the label. If it don't work the first try do it again and again. I had to do it 3 times and wait about 30 minutes but it worked. BTW the penetrant in it smells odd like Ben-Gay.
