Hello
My name is Blaine, and the OAS cheques start arriving in about 6 weeks. I've owned several ford pu's, the first was a '60 that i rescued from recycle. The others were better quality. Next was a '69 F250 Camper Special that i rescued from a botched tranny repair. (He didn't know he needed to spread the frame rails.) So i rebuilt the C6 and eventually the 360 and drove it for 17 yrs. (it's rusty but it's mine and I know where it is.) 1995 found me doing better at Triangle Movers (S'toon) and in a fit of irresponsible self-indulgence I ordered, brand-new from Kansas City, Big Red, 1996 F250 4X4 ext. cab long box 7.3 turbo E4OD automatic. Fire engine, Mack truck, International tractor RED. It's patiently waiting at the gate right now, 162,000 km. Summer of 2010 I acquired the nicest to drive member of the menagerie, a 2007 F350 4X4 6.0 diesel 5sp automatic, ext. cab long box. White as the driven snow, as they say. But it has to go. It's simply too expensive as a toy. I will post it on Kijiji soon, you have first shot at 25G's. All issues will be addressed, it runs perfect, new tires, 102,000 kms.
But THE truck, the one that brought me here, is my Dad's farm truck. The one he bought used in 1950 (I think). The one I first drove all by myself, NOT sitting in dad's lap, (and not very well), the summer of '53 when I was 6. The one I drove to put the harvest grain in the bin when I was 11, and the one I drove when I was 12 and had to take the grain on the fly, because dad would'nt waste time by stopping to unload the combine. It's been at a friend's place since 1983, but finally he has completed the engine rebuild, and will paint the cab before returning it to me this summer.
That truck is a 1946 Mercury 1 Ton Styleside (?). From before they had F or M or 150 or 250 or anything 50. Sorry about the picture thing. I don't have any, but I promise to fix that.
Well, I guess that's about as boring as a newb is allowed to be, so i'll say
CU L8R.

Welcome Blaine, same here, my OAS cheques start arriving in about 5 months.
I've owned many Fords too, the first was dad`s 53 F350 dually that I learned to drive and hauling grain, it`s been all Fords ever since.
