stupid codes - please help me locate where to look for the problem.

After doing my egr and clearing hte codes, I immediately got 3 back.

C1676
P0487
P0488

I know what the description is, but I don't know where to look to check. EGR throttle plate voltage, something about the intake elbow, if anyone could show me on a picture of the engine bay it would be appreciated.

My egr has gotten clogged a half dozen times over the past 3-4 years, and I take it out, clean it, and put it back in. Now I'm getting strange codes and I'm not sure where to look. Every time I search for the code, the people that have the issue have tuners and it's determined that the tuner is looking for a butterfly valve that isn't there because they have 05+. I have no tuner or anything of the sort and am bone stock.

I've noticed this is unplugged, but is dirty and looks like nothing was ever plugged into it:

I accidently cracked this when doing my FICM:

Other than that everything looks normal:

So I'd be looking at #5 on the first picture and #6 on the second?

I think the Picture that you posted with the thing that didnt have a plug is your issue

If you could find that pigtail and plug it in those codes would probabaly go away

I dont think the thing thats cracked is to big of deal as long as the intake tube isnt sucking air in there

It's just the housing, but someone said butterfly valve on the intake, and that was the only thing I could think of, maybe I overtightened it and it's blocking something. I have no idea.

I searched around for a pigtail that would plug into that but can't find one anywhere. And it's directly next to the fan so if it was dangling, it'd be gone... Can anyone happen to see if there's something plugged into that and where the line comes from?

sonofabitch i hunted around and found that pigtail and plugged it in. It was back behind the alternator tucked away. That had to have been unplugged for EVER, the last 2 times I did the egr(6mo and 1.5yr) I don't remember that plug, so it had to have been the time before I did it...

I disconnected the batteries and am clearing the pcm now, lets see what happens.

the P0487 is directly from it being unplugged

if it got cut off in fan i would still think you would find some chopped wires

Reset the pcm, took it for 20mi test drive around town and down the highway, and all is good. Much quieter, more power, feels better all around. Who'd have thought... Glad I noticed and bothered to snap a picture, thanks for calling that one out for me.

THATS GREAT

Now that you have more power and it runs smoother you will probably get better MPG too. Time will tell
