King pin inspection
Began building a 1950 "resto rod" (sorry) with my daughter. Lowering / upgrading F2, I like the longer bed My question ; while inspecting the front end components I discovered some play in the driver side king pin, the spindle moves up and down "slightly" but fit between bushings and pin seems good. Should I simply shim it or is there more to this? Please advise, this is my first experience with King Pins.

Welcome to the forum!
"Slightly" is OK, is this like 1/16" or less? Can you feel or hear the spindle banging up/down as you go over bumps?
As far as kingpin bushing play, try putting the wheel and tire back on, and tighten the wheel bearing so there is no play. Now rock the tire top-to-bottom. If you feel ANY movement, the kingpins are worn.
