2008 fender badges on my 2005? yes? no? (lots of pics inside)

i thought this was going to be a great idea. (i have seen it in pics on the net i know its not a new idea, i know its been done.) but with my 08 side mirrors and tailgate i thought it would really go good. now that there hear i am having second thoughts. the last thing i want to do is cut a hole in my fenders stand back and say what the fu(k was i thinking??? the pics of my truck below kind of look bad with the placement of the badges and angle of the pics, but what is your take on it? i think most of you will say don't do it. and i'm still up in the air about it. or even leaning towards not doing it but i'm going to take a few more pics of them taped on the truck tomorrow (or as soon as i can). if i put them on i will be cutting the fender open to mount them in and losing the door badges. if you have or know of a pic post it up. if you had my truck and the badges where in your hand would you do it or not?

my truck

stock badges

with stock insert

with billet insert

from afar

with insert and with out

here is the look i like

here is a truck that looks pritty good with the 08 badge on it (i know its a 08 up)

i do plan on cutting them in if i do put them on like 06two50diesel did.

i think this looks real good.

i dont want to advanced auto (pep boys) this truck up. i'm not going to do the chrome door protecters and neon wiper squirters.

i went to ford for the real deal parts. let me get a few more pics of the badge in the right spot and some better angle shots and see where were at. (it might be a no go tho, i hear ya)

Not to knock anyones taste and to each there own and all that. But this just reminds me of those Ghetto vents you see alot down south, just throw some 24" spinners on it and call it a Whip!

I would be removing that if I put them on. I'll be back with some better pics in a day or 2. Then you can help me decide. Thanks

It is your truck after all. But when I see your pics you would need a new hood, new front grill, new bumper, new fenders, new headlights, and then I would say it looks good. But what do I know? I put "international" emblems on my truck

+1 I think it looks great the way it is.

Man, I haven't used that line since before I got married, but this time I mean it.

mtnxtreme800,

I like the badgeless look also. Were there alignment holes behind the badges on your 03?

No there was like a foam tape holding it on, I used some 3M decal and adhesive cleaner, tried to get some behind it as best as possible, and it came off, also removed those big 4x4 stickers, and Ford emblems, I don't know if the newer ones have posts, but I kinda doubt it, everything is abt. adhesives today. Looked real stream lined and nothing to wash, dry or wax around.
