I have no problem with Jeeps per-se. I used to own a 74 CJ-5 myself.

But Chrysler's "jeeps" are heresy.

Yea right.

I've got a 96 Cherokee and have already had to replace the motor, slave and clutch master cylinder, PS pump, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, rear diff, and both front bearings. Yeah Id get rid of it. But I have to much money in it and won't get anything close to what I've put in.

Noted, but I don't understand what you're getting at. That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that Fords are engineered very differently from Chryslers (THANK GAWD!!!)

first today, I wouldn't disagree if you said I have serious issues with Fiatsler LLC. If I'm helping to pay them to run their waste of a company, I think it's fair to demand that they manufacture products that a) people want to buy and b) are reasonably reliable

It seems someone is very upset by a thread about Jeeps on a Ford forum. General Automotive is to discuss any auto a person wishes.

I really can not say anything bad about my Jeep since it is the first one I have ever owned. It does well by me and seems to be in great condition. I have not seen to many of them that are dirt cheap. Most of them with high miles seem to hold a great resale value.

My link to the Jeep being made by Ford is merely to point out that it is not that far off topic, to be on a ford site. I also like the thought of many Jeep owners seem to like running Ford v-8 power plants in them. Do not get me wrong, they also use chevies, but when is the last time you saw a camaro with a ford power plant.

Mopar also seemed to follow the right track buy putting the distributor in front of the engine instead of the back.

Ahright, ahright, I'll give you that . I will say that us Ford enthusiasts seem to get along with the Moparters a lot better than GM owners.

I take my Ford enthusiasm pretty seriously, if you couldn't tell.

The Cherokee (XJ) was the reason we have Exploders and small SUVs in general. You can thank AMC for that. Chrysler has done nothing but turn Jeep into a soccer moms wet dream, minus the Rubi, and now Fiat is finishing Jeep off.

You guys can wear Ford blinders your entire life if you like, but there are a lot of good products out there besides them. Just because there isn't a blue oval attached, doesn't mean it's junk. And guys, we own FORDS, deep down you know they're turds like everything else.

Hmm, sounds just about like our experiences with late 80's, early 90's Rangers, just exchange the word transmission (auto and stick) for motor.
