Fuel has not one thing to do with it. High pressure fuel system, Idling, and town only driving causes it. If you don't want to do the egr clean then take it on a good long trip where the engine will get hot and that carbon will come on out of that egr cooler. I really didn't think a long trip would clean it out on the highway so I had the egr cleaned. Never a problem again. It may pop up again in the future and when it does I will do an egr clean again. Obama emissions is causing this not fuel.

Idling and tooting around does it, and most assuredly, Fuel. Remember the 6.0? Been in hundreds of them. I have always preached CETANE additives with my customers. Regular users DONT HAVE PROBLEMS!

I was running additive when my first DEF fault came up from EGR clogged. Just FYI.

At my dealer with the help of BP we proved additive does nothing in this case.

State of NC fuel lab also helped in this. They were the main lab for the testing

Been my personal experience that running a diesel hard and through the rpm band will do more to keep all the systems healthy then anything else.
