Sorry I didn't realize it required a car pan, both the 390 and 223 I ran in my truck were both passenger car engines so I had no issue. There are no new Y block pans, I do see them on Ebay at times, be sure it has the pickup and tube included. When you start modifying things the fun begins or never ends.

I would have expected Jegs to explain that in the information but they did not. So when you say pick up and tube, is that something that runs inside the oil pan from the front of the pan (resivoir) back to the pump that runs off the distributer rod? I guess what I am asking is, does the pickup and tube work off the same pump for both car and truck?

Yes, same pump, just the tube that carries the oil is longer on the front sump pans.

Thanks HB, Im looking into other options opposed to swapping oil pans, internals, and dip stick to front end. I wonder if that front mount Charlie pointed out for a 600 will work with the front cross member of a F-100. It looks much more stable than the single bolt front bolt mount that comes stock on a 56 F-100. Still a long ways back to the rear of the tail shaft on an AOD, but with the additional support in the front, a set of T Bird stabliizers in the stock mid block motor mount locations, it might be ok on a Y under 300 HP.

That was another forum. This is the mount we're talking about, 1955 1956 1957 1958 Y BLOCK V8 292 F100 F600 ENGINE FRONT MOTOR MOUNT | eBay

It is for some F100s, too but I don't know the exact fitment. That should be more stable than the T-bird setup. You will need to have corresponding brackets made and welded to the front crossmember.

Thanks Charlie, I got it. I understand I may need additional hardware to make it work. My idea was to use this in the front, consider the Tbird stabilizers in the middle, and the AOD Tail shaft mount. All of them. Im thinking there is two motor mounts between the steel front engine mount and the frame rails? Whatever hardware hold those F-600 mounts to the frame rails is what I will be looking for now. Otherwise, I will fabricate something.
