Noise from temp control on 2010 F150 Platinum

Has anyone else experienced noise coming from the tempature contol unit? I generally hear it immediately after turning on AC or Heat and then when I adjust the tempature up or down. It only last for a few seconds then goes away. I plan on taking it by the Ford dealership but curious if anyone else had the same problem and how it was fixed?

what is the noise you are hearing? Is it like the hiss of air leaking out? if so i believe it is because the temperature control is operated off of the trucks' vacuum system.

You must run around with your stereo off.

As awq134 stated, it is operated via the vacuum system, and you can hear the system move the blend door around when you are turning on/off the heater/A/C or changing the temperature.

The noise is hard to describe, kind of a buzzing noise. Today I checked to see when the noise would occur, I had the heat on and each time I pressed the button to lower the tempature it would make a buzzing noise just for a second.

I have a 2014 Lariat and I too hear this "hiss of air leaking out". It does it off and on for a few seconds anytime the AC or Heat is on. It sounds like it is coming from the passenger side near the firewall and it can be annoying. I've mentioned it to my dealer at least two times and they say they can't find a problem.

AFAIK, the blend doors on these trucks are electrical, not vacuum operated.

the slight "hiss of air" sound could just be the evaporator coil as the AC cycles on and off. My expedition does this all day every day, nothing to worry about there IMO.

the buzzing could likely be the blend door motor acting up. usually it will be a "clicking" as the gears strip out, but a buzzing could be explained by a bad blend door motor.

just some thoughts.

Thanks Mike, I have a 2007 Expedition too, that one doesn't do it.
