Stupid question but does anyone know of a skinny 35 or 36 inch tire

how skinny is skinny? my 315/75r16 BFG ATs or 35x12.5r15 BFG AT's aren't super wide.

 

Ya I like the 35x12.5r15 BFG MT km2s and I will probobly end up buying them but I like the look of skinny tires. How do you guys think 35s will look on a f150 with a 6inch lift

 

I run 35s with a 4-inch lift and the proportions look about right (Visit my garage). I think 35s would look "stilty" with a 6-inch.

heres 35x12.5-17 on a 4" suspension 3" body lift. when I get a 6" lift Im definately getting bigger because it probably wont look right.

 

Interco makes the SSR in a 35x10.50. Though I didn't have that size, I used to have a set of SSRs and they are a pretty nice tire. Much more aggressive than BFGs offroad, but about comparable in noise and handling on road.

Powerking makes a great bias ply 9.00x16 which measures almost 36 inches

 

Use the above link and look at the TSL Bias plys the Q78-15LT measures 35.5 x 9.5 but it is bias ply

 

They look GOOOOOD on a 4" and not bad on a 6". I'm much more of a "little list as possible/necessary" type guy, and I'm not a huge fan of overly agressive tire treads (or huge tire size) on trucks that won't use them.

4" lift & 35" tires on these things look PERFECT to me. Best stance/combo out there IMO.

The black fenders are stock - white ones are autofab zero flare, 3" wider wheel opening ones.





Here's also one of the 315/75r16's on my crew cab. Being a '74 4wdF-250 it's a "high boy" so it's stock ride height is about 4" higher than a stock 2wd.

 

Gateway tire use to make a tall/skinny bias ply 36x10.50 "Buckshot mudder" that would mount up to a 6" wide steelie, they stopped production a few years ago, but there's still some old stock out there if you look.

(The new Buckshot mudder made by Maxxis is a poor imitation of the old Gateway version)

 

You could get a 255/85 r16 that is like a 33 or 34 and narrow. I ran a set of tsl Q78s and they were pretty awesome. I switched to a 35/10.50 bogger and those are unstoppable but noisy and little to no lateral stability. Bfg makes a new size, 295/75 r16 that might be pretty narrow and tall. I like super swampers. their radials get good mileage and they arequiet if you keep them rotated. You can go to a 10" wide in 35 or 36 or maybe even 37 in a ssr or a tls radial.
