"Check Engine" light comes on, on washboard roads.

On my 2003 V10, the more severe bouncy and washboarded roads often lights my "check engine" light. The truck runs as normal, the light will go off only after truck has been parked awhile. Does anybody have an idea which sensor or operation might be affected by washboard? Also, I remember somebody recommending a brand of weatherstrip lubricant to keep the squeeks away, in an earlier posting, any recommendations?

Waxy recommends "Door Ease" for the seals.

Take your truck somewhere to have the codes read. Some parts stores like Autozone will do it for free. That should tell you what the computer thinks is wrong.

Even after the lights is no longer lit (it has self reset) does the computer remember why it was on before?

I think it does but only for a limited number of start-ups.

After the light goes off the code will stay in memory for 40 warm up cycles. A warm up cycle is when the engine is started with the coolant below 120F AND the engine warms above 160F before it is turned off.

For most people that means a code will stay in memory for three or four weeks.
