Which oil brand/type and oil filter do you use to prevent engine wear to keep your truck running as long as possible?
My first oil change I went with Royal Purple 5W-20 at 3500miles. Now I'm at 7400miles (oil life gauge says 64%) and about to perform my second oil change. Not sure if there is a better oil out there that will make my truck last forever. I'm bouncing between sticking with RP or switching to Mobil 1...all while using the Mobil 1 oil filter.
PS- the company I work for pays for my maintenance, so I don't mind changing the oil a little more often than necessary and can purchase a little pricier oil...as long as its not at the price point of Amsoil RD20.

I buy Mobil 1 when it is on sale at Auto Zone, $30 for 5 quarts and filter. So I buy 2 the first time since it takes 7 quarts, and now I only buy 1 special each oil change.

Motorcraft all around.Did you notice any gain in mpgs when you switched to royal purple rapr?

I change to RP at the same time I did the lift and bigger tires. If there was any increase in mpg, which I doubt, it was unnoticed due to the drop in MPG due to the speedo being off. I bought an Ultra-Gauge to obtain correct speed and mileage readings so can start getting correct mpg measurements again.

I used the Motorcraft 5W-20 oil and Motorcraft filters on my truck(6.2) and my wife's truck(5.0 F150) for the first few changes, but have since been experimenting with the Fram XG filters which are their best filters Fram makes. I have used these filters on all of my other vehicles with positive results, using Mobil 1 Full synthetic. I am considering trying another filter next change as I have noticed the oil pressure has increased a fair amount in both trucks while using Fram filters. This makes me wonder if it is restricting the flow more than the motorcraft, but at the same time, makes me wonder if it filters better than the motorcraft, which wouldn't surprise me. Either way, I think I am going to try a quality NAPA filter next. Either way, for now I am still using Motorcraft oil because of the price point and availability.

Napa Gold and Wix are the both made by the same company,....WIX. I am shure that Motercraft oil and filters are not made by Ford and I would like to ask if any body knows who makes their products for them.
