Just for your info, there was a full-size Bronco on eBay in ABQ last week; the owner is a Cummins mechanic, and has a Cummins in everything he owns. This Bronco had a 4BT and a 5-speed of some sort. He was claiming mid-20's mpg.

I'll play...
Warmed over 289, late model 3-speed overdrive trans, Ford 9" with questionable gears, no accurate milage indicator (cept for a borrowed TomTom), and no speedo...I estimated about 16MPG in town, and more on the highway. I try to keep the RPM's below 3K when putting around town. My highway numbers vary quite a bit...I can't keep a steady speed and I have no idea what that speed is.
The year before last, I drove from South Bend to Chicago on 3/4 tank. That was my non highway course that took a little over a couple of hours.

How about 70mpg ... and that is with 300 hp to boot
Ok so not my truck, and not anything old either... This thread got me to googling around looking at whether modulars are more efficient than FE or Y etc etc... somehow (no clue how - I clicked on a popup and got caught in a pornado) I found this, all you classic car lovers feast your eyes on this beauty:
An update on the Duesenberg Torpedo Coupe - with a 70 mpg 300 HP V-12?
and while a tech magazine/blog really gives me no hope (many a company like the sparrow/merlin fail and we never see a actual production figures), the fact that the www site is still up:
Duesenberg Custom Coach LLC - "Honoring the Legend" - The World's Finest Motor Car
and they are still showing a production date (2013) has me a little hopeful.
Duesenberg Torpedo® Coupe - A new Duesenberg luxury automobile

Those cars were SOOOOOOO far ahead of their time it's not even funny. My friends and I were talking about Duesengergs last night and how we should take a club trip to Auburn to check out these beautiful cars.
Ok...upon further review the ad is for something other than the original. I was more talking about the original Duesenberg. Still...
My own personal claim to fame...I actually touched an original unrestored Duesenberg.
