Crank pulley runout?

While under the hood the other day, I noticed that my belt tensioner was doing a lot of moving back and forth. It appears that it is due to the crank pulley not being true, I can see the crank pulley moves in two directions as it turns, both radial and axial. I can't feel any slack in it, but I just don't like the way it looks while it is running.

From what I can see, it's going to take a new balancer to correct this, so the big question is --If I replace the balancer, will that affect the balance of my lower end? Any other considerations?

Thanks for any input.
