Probably the best location is your local salvage yard also graiglook & ebay. You can also get a remanufactured one from Cardone may not be spelled correct for about $250 unless the price has gone up.

Check with a local 4x4 shop to see if there are any toyota clubs in your area. Up here they do a lot of cross-over steering conversions. Not sure what it entails but they pretty much throw away their power boxes to swap in a manual one. I picked mine up for $20 from one of these guys.

We have a place in Denver called the Yota Yard and they sell the boxes for $150. Picked one up last weekend. They do a not-so-sanitary job of removing it. It entails unbolting the 4 bolts and then using a blow torch to cut off the linkage, and sidecutters to slice through the PS hoses. The nice thing is, they leave the fittings for the PS lines so you can always take them off to get your new lines made for your application.

I bought a box from them, some time ago. They shipped it to me. Everything worked out fine.

Another good place to look is Pirate4x4.Com - The largest off roading website in the world.. I placed a WTB ad there and got a bunch of responses. $100 shipped, complete with hoses , ragjoint and pitman arm. Good luck.

I'm working on doing the Toyota box conversion on my '59. Can anyone list all the necessary parts I'll need to source for the conversion? I'm having trouble finding a complete kit, so looks like I'll have to piece-meal all the parts...want to make sure I get everything I'll need. I intend to use the original steering column (it'll be an auto on the floor, so no issues with column shift).
Thanks guys!

The biggest part will probably be the bracket, there have been several guys on the board who have made their own and have pics in their gallery (can't remember who). Another important part will be the pitman arm you may be able to buy one from MF with the correct threads & ball, other than those two items that about it other than the hoses & p/s pump. When I first did the conversion in the early 90's I used the original steering column for my 55 worked very well. I did use a bearning on the bottom to hold the shaft centered in the steering tube.

Buy the Pitman arm. The bracket is easy to make. If you get the steering col set right you can get by with one U joint. Here's a pic for your reference.

Hobs53 Check out this article Toyota Steering Box Swap For 1948-1960 Trucks .: Articles
It should answer most of your questions. It did for my 59 f250 4x4 upgrade. I have not driven the truck yet but have run steering box lock to lock under power with just the weight of chassis no body, just using the u-joint as the steering wheel by hand.
