Idling/Shifting Issues 97 F250 5.8
Hey all.
I've recently torn into my 97 f250 with the 5.8 and E4OD. Someone stole the catalytic convertor, so I decided to rip out the entire air injection system to declutter and free up a few ponies.
Ever since doing that and rebuilding the entire cooling system, I've been having issues with it.
When I start the engine, itll sputter for a second before coming to life. After that, she idles high and only revs higher and higher the longer I run her. The exhaust also smells ridiculously rich and acrid, with some smoke.
If I shift out of park, the truck lurches and almost immediately dies.
I have a feeling It has something to do with the idle air control valve, but I'm not too sure. In removing the air system, could I have caused some other issues to arise? I have not plugged the holes in the heads, if that could cause anything.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Check for trouble codes. Here's how. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...aper-clip.html. Should take you about 10 minutes.
Let us know what codes you pull.
