Sweet truck. I have never got to drive my 59 but my 64 has seen many outings such as that one. I once had a video of my 64 with all 4 wheels off the ground busting 6 foot snowdrifts. One of my friends has a video of me doing a pull off with a 454 chevy. no pictures though and i don't have any of the videos.

thanks for the kind words about the old boy. we call him Walt because when i brought it home my wife said it looked like it came off Waltons mountain. that water was so clear it looked to be about 6 in. deep. more like 30 some inches deep. those are 38.5 super swamper boggers. the front bumper kept hitting the bank on the other side and i didnt want to bend it, didnt have a shovel or traction to back out......so, out came the rope. any day the hubs are locked is a good day!

I've driven that truck and can attest it's a beast. And all I did was try to keep it on the road. Glad you didn't bend it up trying to cross that stream. Hope it wasn't a Chevy that pulled you out! Stu

Teddy can play

TS Heres a picture of a picture (no digital camera in the late 80's).
[IMG][/IMG]
This is a picture from a local 4 wheel drive sand drag / hill climb event. Teddy has not played for the last 12 years but we will again. In the past we have participated in truck pulls, sand drags, hill climbs and thousands of miles of 4wheeling. I learned to off-road in this truck when I was 16 (1970). He worked hard and played hard until 12 years ago.
Soon to be back by popular demand!

Teddy was looking good back in the day playing in the sand. hope you get him on the road soon. we pulled ours a few times and felt pretty good because one night i ended up 12 feet short of a dodge cummins diesel. i remember telling my boss at the time that i slipped the clutch and ran it down the track at 6000 rpm. he looked at me funny and said that motor must be good and loose because it shouldn't be turning 6 grand. i dont push it that hard anymore. and Stu......no comment. did some mud racing to but was at a big disadvantage because of the stick. hauled it all the way to sandwich IL for the 4 wheel and off road jamboree, pulled up to the line, dumped the clutch and blew the short-shaft right out of the truck. rolled into the mud and then went on the hook. there was a driveline company there with a booth so sent the pieces with them and in the AM i had a brand new one. cut into the beer money pretty bad but it was fun.
