Yep I just received that education a few minutes ago. Three trucks. Non turbo, turbo idi mine, and94.5 hydrostroke. OK I found out on mechanical systems you adjust fuel pump pressure. I am assuming there is a sweet spot where the peak mpg is at. Any ideas where this is? Or am I totally wrong and leave it alone for peak mpg. Thx

 

OK I found on YouTube how to adjust pump pressure 1/4 turn at a time. So I need a pyrometer. I seen a nice one that has vacuum gauge built in. And another one had that plus a boost gauge. What do I need? Do we adjust boost on stock idi turbo?

 

no need for a vacuum gauge on a diesel, especially one with a turbo, because you will never see vacuum.

 

thanks. yea I found out too that I ordered the wrong cold air intake. maybe I can adapt it. but if I have to I can do the cowl mod. it just worries me with snow in nc.

 

Ordered the hypermax cowl thing. Going to return the other I bought minus shipping. Ordered the ats air filter from amazon. So hopefully I now finally have exactly what I need to get this beast to breathe.

 

After reading the writeup I understand how it sheds water. I'll unhook when it snows.

 

Do I need to do anything special to get this to seal in the turbo housing?

 

No, it's a V-band clamp.

 

What do I need to install the banks downpipe and straight exhaust. does the downpipe need to be adapted to 3" or larger tailpipe? does it need insulation between the pipe and the firewall? does the downpipe have a bend at the bottom? Is there room to weld on the tailpipe after connecting the downpipe to the turbo and if it needs a band to connect to the turbo does it come with it or do I have to purchase one from International or truck shop?
