New truck opinion?

I am looking at buying a new toy! But have a few questions i'd like your opinions on. First off, the truck is a 1974 highboy. brand new 390 (about 300 miles on it) with a 4speed. I'm giving the guy 1800 for the truck, spare leaf springs roll bar with kc lights push bumped tube doors 35" bfgs & 37" boggers and an extra carb. The outside looks good. little surface rust and thats about it. Nice and straight. Inside the cab is a different story. disgusting but hey nothing some 409, floor mats, and new seat cover won't fix. I has after market tach, oil pressure gauge, temp guage etc. Mechanically sound, just needing a paint job and interior design for lack of a better word. I am wanting to get this truck as a work/ play truck. hauling firewood, hunting and the occasion mudding. It has lock right locker in front and posi in the back. Only real concern (And this is the main reason I'm posting on here) is that it has manual steering. I have never driven a manual steering rig. And my concern is how tough is it gonna be to steer if i'm stuck in a pit or loaded down with firewood?

And if i wanted to switch it to a power steering would i be able to? and what would i need to do the conversion?

Thanks guys
Heres a few pics

At speed steering won't be an issue, it's when you're trying to manuever into a parking spot or something similar that manual steering is a real bear, but nothing you can't deal with.

as for the power steering swap, you'll just need to do the 78/79 upgrade, tons of info on the topic if you do a quick search.
