Quieter injectors?

Does anyone make (and which are the best) quieter injectors for the 7.3?
It's a 2001.
Also improved performance would be a plus. I know Dodge came out a few years ago with quieter injectors and it really made a difference in sound volume.

Yes, they do make quieter injectors, unfortunately it takes a lot of modifying to use them because you gotta switch from glow plugs to spark plugs, and from diesel to gas.

There are things you can do to help quieten the injectors. Probably the best thing to do is get the air out of the fuel system. A Fuel Air Separator System comes to mind. There are some cheaper, things you can do to help too. A regulated return for the fuel system can help. A fuel rail crossover line Riffraff Diesel Performance Parts: - FRx can help, as well as a High Pressure Oil crossover line Riffraff Diesel Performance Parts: - HPX . I have installed both of the crossover lines, and my truck is really quiet when compared to most other 7.3's. A good fuel additive that raises the cetane in the diesel will help too, especially if you're running a tune. Synthetic oil is also a good idea. Some guys like the 5W-40, but I prefer the 15W-40 myself. It is noisy at startup, especially in the winter time, but after it warms up, it does quiet down.

Installing dynamat in the doors and on the floorboard will do wonders at making the cab quiet.

Actually all the diesels are much quieter than they used to be. The new powerstroke is extremely quiet. But the injectors are not interchangable between the engines.

How many miles do you have on your truck?

Have you done any modifications? Tuner, chip?

130K. Only mods are 4" turbo back exhaust, air intake, and oil vent bypass.
I've Googled the subject a bit and seems there are products available that claim to be quieter. Most are "remanufactured".

There is no such thing as a quieter injector.

Period, moving on.

The newer diesels are quiter because of their use of pilot injection cycles.

And CR tech... And the fact they are completely different motors...

Has VERY LITTLE to do with Pilot injection.

O, didnt even think about CR, I guess I got some reading up to do. I could have swore that I has read an article in Diesel Power a few years back about the 6.7 psd, and I coild have swore they said it was quiter due to pilot injection, and when turned off it sounded like a 7.3.

What about a little 2-cycle oil in your diesel fuel? I did this for the past two tanks, and it is by far the best thing I have done to reduce engine noise. Personally I would not want my truck any quieter. Just a thought, it is definitely cheaper than replacing injectors.

If the O.P.s goal is to reduce engine noise in the truck cab, I have tried 2 stroke oil, FRX, in tank and pre-pump mod and added an Adrenaline HPOP. My engine is very quiet for a 7.3 running stock split shots with 80 and 100hp tunes.

I also added poly tubing to my door seals which made my cab quieter.

Some folks are bed liner coating there valve covers and have stated that quieted things down. Insulating the firewall with sound mat is another option. New injectors can make the engine run quieter.
