I finally upgraded, bought a used '16 with 32k (35 now..drove it home from Houston). Definitely nice trucks, quiet...rides like a car, interior is awesome. I still enjoy driving my 6.0 more though, i look forward to changing that with a lift and wheels/tires soon enough

Hey Miles, welcome to club 6.7! I'd love to give you advice on things to watch for or avoid but both my 6.7's have been almost completely issue free. The only thing I would recommend is changing the cold side intercooler tube to an aftermarket like H&S, Mishimoto, or AFE. The stocker is known to blow and leave you on the side of the road... even with low miles.

I left the 6.0 world as well and the biggest issue for me has been trying to break the habit (compulsion) to constantly monitor everything. No worries of FICM voltage, or EOT/ECT delta, etc.

Just get in and drive. As recommended, it's a good idea to replace the stock plastic CAC tube.

 

There's a forscan thread that talks about all the things you can change yourself in the computer (like the speedo and tire size) plus a bunch more. Be sure to read through that.

And read about the DEF always getting overfilled and spilling all over the truck. And the latest list of what oil ford has and has not approved for the diesels.

Then remember to set the cruise control all the time until you get a feel for the truck so you don't get any tickets. It's hard to judge speed in these things when coming from diesel sounding truck.

what is the fascination with lifting trucks and adding oversized tires? If it ain't stock I won't consider it as my next truck.

Im not talking crazy lift, 4" and 35s. Completely useable as a truck, better off-road capability, and personalization. The bland, low look of this truck is killing me...i can't wait to make it my own

 

Congrats, I really like my 08 6.4. Thought it was faster and stronger.


But now that I am used to the 6.7 I really like it too. It is just a different power delivery but it is there.

 

Some people actually take their vehicles off of the smooth paved streets. Shocking, I know! :O

Yeah, all the way out to a cow pasture - or maybe an old logging road. Less than *1 in 100,000* would attempt a challenging rock climb where a lift would be useful (excludes those old beaters).

There were tons of trucks in Houston, this one was a good deal too. Ford certified pre-owned as well...not sure how much that really means though
