Raptor Fuel Economy

Yeah I know we visit there quite a bit because my brothers where born in Sacramento. Not is hot as Arizona that's where I lived before we moved up here. Also yeah what I will probably do is buy what I want here and then ship or drive that towing my expedition out there. Because then I could keep Mi tags on it and insurance.

why buy a raptor?
get a nice used 04-08 truck, spend $3k on lift kit and tires...have alot of fun
if you need more power, spend another $5k on a supercharger...I had a ton of fun with my Roushcharger on my 2006 5.4 Supercrew.
Raptor is awesome, but a stupid proposition for a 17/18 yr old...especially if you are already concerned about MPG's before the actual purchase. You can make a similar truck for 1/2 the price and still have $$$ to burn

When I was 18 my daily driver was a '69 Skylark with a built 455, TH-400, manual steering and four wheel manual drum brakes.
Couldn't turn, couldn't stop and got about 8mpg, loads of fun in a straight line and at cruise nights though

Fukk that! Buy a new truck. I had ****ty cars all threw school and after I graduated and did a bit of collage I bought Brand new or a couple years old new. If you do it right you can buy and sell a vehicle and not loose really anything on it (minor used) and you will always have a new truck. You need something you can rely on or else its just gonna cost you and give you that much more grief! Never buy anything older then 3 years old, that way you can sell it for the same price you got it for in 2 years.
Are you picking up what Im laying down? Maybe you need more school???
But to get back on topic; My old (sold this year) 2007 Nissan Titan had about the same fuel mileage as my 2012 Raptor.

Well if I had your kind of coin I would go for a powerstroke excursion, raptors are cool seen a couple here in Nor Cal along with camaros and challengers. I'm still a truck guy at heart and could easily trick out a excursion to handle some of what a raptor could do. Plus no rust here. Since you will be in Nor Cal come join the chapter here on the FTE if you haven't already.

My God, I hope someone can insert some "wisdom from age" into that young fellow's head...
Dear Mr. "nkenney"
PLEASE DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
SOME DAY YOU'LL BE LOOKING FOR SOME CASH AND YOU'LL HATE YOURSELF FOR SQUANDERING IT ON A TRUCK (or a car) THAT BECAME ALMOST WORTHLESS IN A COUPLE OF YEARS, when a newer model arrived on the scene.
If you take a few minutes and Google "The Prodigal Son" story... that dude could well be YOU...
Sorry for screaming with caps, but maybe someone (hopefully the OP) will notice...

Yeah I am really going to try and not purchase a new vehicle. But my 2005 expy keeps breaking, I just put 1500 into it and then know I think the transfer case just broke. I heard some terrible noises then it sounded like a chain spinning below my seat. Then when I put it in 4wd it seems to bind up and not move. Any ideas then are old Lincoln town car I inherited and now something is wrong with the tranny. The one thing I like about a new car is you know what you did to it and treated it. So I would be keeping this car for at least 8 years.

nothing depreciates faster then a vehicle!
Boy i wish i had known that before throwing away cash on a chevy truck in 98! biggest life regret! still wont sell it to this day! could have paid my schooling off 2x for what it cost. Vehicles are a waste of money for people that have money to waste.
carry on.
