4x4 low not working

4x4 low not working
what are some simple checks, my 4x4 low range doesnt engage, just stays in 4 hi. 2003 f350 screw v10. thanks

Do you have a manual shift 4 wheel drive system, or do you have the little **** on the dash that you twist? When you do try to shift to 4L, what procedure are you following? Are you stopped? Is the transmission in N or P?

You have to be in neutral to engage 4x4 low.

its electric and have trans in neutral, have tryed with all 4 wheels off the ground also, it does nothing doesnt even sound like the motor on t case is working but goes in and out of 4 high just fine, could the dash switch be bad, cant be a complex system by the looks of it just a switch and electric motor, thanks for the help

Could be a relay under the hood by the fuse box. Also your foot needs to be on the brake peddle for it to shift.

found problem i believe, found 2 wires pulled out of connector on dash switch, works fine now, thanks for help. sorry didnt reply sooner been workin 16 hour days.
