Mud flaps and brackets - F250

Does anyone have any photos and/or parts number (Attn: Numberdummy) for the mudflap brackets and hangers used on the 53-56 F250 and up flatbeds? I have the brackets riveted to the frame but wondering what setup they used for the hangers. Any info is appreciated.

Pictures of the mud flap hanger on my '56 with the factory Ford script stake bed. The hangers are about 1" angle iron welded between the inboard main bed frame brackets and the outboard bed frame. The mud flaps swing on what could be chain links from the angle iron and they do show years of wear. I have no idea if the mud flap mounting is original. Records I got with the truck indicate a dump mechanism was added to the truck in the 1960s but I see no reason the mud flap installation would have been changed. HTH
Edit: F-350 with DRW

Thanks for the pics... Gives me some ideas. Here is a picture of my mudflap bracket riveted to the frame on my 54 F250.

Wondering how they mounted it. Mine is/was a SRW, wonder if that made a difference in the mounting. Anyone?

Mine is exactly like that on my 51 F4 duallie, so, no, I don't think it made a difference.

Because of the holes in that holder, I have thought the mudflap bracket has a corresponding hole for a bolt/nut. But I've unsuccessfully searched for pics of an original installed.

Dummy sez: Updated part numbers listed in 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog (printed 1964) for Flat & Stake Beds.

These same numbers listed for 1957/72's.

B9TZ-16A550-A .. Rear Wheel Splash Guard Kit / 24" x 24"

B9TZ-16A550-B .. Rear Wheel Splash Guard Kit / 24" x 30"

B9TZ-16A550-C .. Rear Wheel Splash Guard Kit / 24" x 30"

All obsolete = No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-------------------------------------------------------------
C0TZ-16C568-A .. Support Kit-Rear Wheel Splash Guard / 4 supports, 8 braces and a lotta mounting hardware / Obsolete

ONE is available NOS, but you're gonna hafta want it...real bad, cuz the dealer that has it, is a snake! Wants MEGA-BUCKS for obsolete parts.

HIGH BUCK!! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS = 800-676-0675 / Be prepared for "sticker shock!"

Bill - I would have more wrapped up in the kit then I do in the whole interior. LOL. Thanks for the info.

Was hoping I could find a photo of the original setup and maybe fab something up from there. Will keep looking.

Well shut my mouth and call me stupid! I had no idea. I guess the mudflaps hang from the bed like I've seen on other trucks.

Now that's funny... I don't care who you are.

Well, you made my day. I knew something someone else didn't. That is such a rare occurrence that it's worth noting.

I am in the presence of true knowledge! I have always thought that bracket was for mud flaps because I once saw it used that way. My F250's never had tire carriers mounted underneath (well not by the time I bought them) I now stand corrected! Thanks for the info. Awesome.... Now I have to fab up my mud flaps a different way.... Thanks Harrier.

Well, now I'm interested in how that bracket was used for mud flaps.
I would think it would be too far away from the wheels to look right.
If you have a bed, I would think attaching them to the bed would be best.

You know, I'm not a stocker because I'm so passionate about stock. I'm just not skilled enough to to any type of fab work...don't have the tools either.

Harrier - Amazing what you can do with a big hammer, vise, cheap mig welder and some ideas. I will have to fab something up because my flatbed was custom built and the support rails are placed differently i.e. not in the right position for the mudflaps. Will post some photos once I figure it out. Thanks for all the help guys.
