2012 Lariat

I have a 2012 F350 Lariat dually without the center SYNC display. On the instrument cluster I can't get the OAT, EGT, etc displayed. Only oil and water temp in the INFO selection. I do get compass direction, and other very basic info. Is there a flash available so I can see OAT, EGT and other engine info displayed.

As far as I know those are the only two you get.that's all my 2011 F250 Lariat shows.

Reason I'm asking is a friend has a 2011 F350 6.7 with the full SYNC package, and his instrument display always has OAT displayed, next to the direction, and I think he has more engine info available when you pull it up.

I only have the basic display also Is there any way to add the other. Would it be just plug in or a big deal to add it.

The optional message center (within the instrument cluster) only reports EOT and TFT.
The optional NAV unit in the center of the dash would be the secondary screen where SYNC is involved but I don't know if it reports engine information.

Someone here did add the NAV unit (I think it was Shane) but I think it would be very difficult, if not impossible to add the optional instrument cluster message center.

I need to clarify. My Lariat instrument cluster screen shows engine coolant and tranny temps in degrees when you go to the Info selection. Along the top of the screen I see the N,S.W,E direction info in all the driving modes, but not the OAT, which my friend sees with his '11 F350 6.7 Lariat.

I THINK he sees more engine info in the INFO selection, but I'm not sure. I would like to see the OAT information.

But you both have the colour LCD screen and not the VFD right?

Pictures of both would be nice for comparison purposes...

I have the color LED display standard with the Lariat above the steering wheel, my friend has the same display in the middle of the dash also. His display above the steering wheel has OAT displayed, I can't get it displayed on mine. We both have Lariat trucks, but he has the full SYNC system. So is that the difference, or can I get a flash so I can see the same info.

Ok, I'm getting confused. If you have a Lariat you have the full SYNC system ..... as far as I know there is only one SYNC. Your friend likely has the NAV package which adds a full screen unit in the center dash with navigation and such. And forgive me for being dumb, maybe to early in the am but what is OAT? Oil and Transmission Temps? If so the centre screen can display the oil and tran temps on the gauges screen.

I thought OAT- outside air temp? Didn't think about oil and tranny. Wonder what it is? I still don't know what he has for sync system, and displays though.

The only place the OAT is displayed on my '11 Lariat with sync and nav is when you push the "EXT" button on the dual climate control panel. It is shown on the climate control panel, not instrument panel's MFD (multi functional display, just had to throw one that out there...)

Sorry, OAT = Outside Air Temp. It's displayed just to the left of the direction you're pointed on my friends dash display, not on the NAV display, which I don't have. Already have a good 7" GPS

Ah yes the OAT! I have a Job 1 and there is not display of OAT anywhere but the Climate Control on the Ext Button.
