Lil Help
Hey guys. I am new to this site and relatively new to building trucks. I have a 94 F150 2WD that I want to level and then install a 2 in body lift. My problem lies within the leveling. I have been searching the internet for lev kits for my truck and I've noticed some sights saying that I must have near zero factory shims. What does this mean? And also what other modifications will I have to make for my truck to ride correctly? I know enough to know that I'm pretty sure I can't just throw some bigger springs on and call it a day. I appreciate any kind of help I can get. Cheers!

Tat is the art that has beome confusing. When I search for leveling kits I come up with sites that offer replacement springs that are larger than factory but there is nothing else with the "kit". I know there has to be more than that. That's why I'm asking on here. Thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna keep lookin around for the kit I need. Hopefully I can find a site that will show me EVERYTHING I need.

I have a 93 4x4 but my Dad has a 93 2wd. The rear end road a lot higher and he didn't like it. There were spacer blocks between the rear diff and leafsprings he just took out. Now it sits level and drives great. What are you looking to do?..Just level the truck or lift it since you mentioned a body lift. And why lift a 2wd??

Get actual leveling springs not spacers. I had Superlift before and they were good. You can also use Moog replacement F250 coil springs. I think the part number is CC844.
All you need is the springs and alignment bushings. Thats pretty much it.
I suggest staying away from any type of body lift. Its a lousy way to lift a truck.

Well, I'm building this 2WD to pull a goose neck trailer. Its got all the torque I want with the 300/6 and its a solid truck. Hopefully I'll be giving it to my son. Anyway, I live in the everglades, the palmetto roots grow over some of the trails that get to our mud holes. So, a little clearance does alot of good when tryin to get the toys out there.
Thanks for the advice on the blocks. I'm gonna have to look at that.

Im beginning to agree but I'm having a hard time finding suspension lifts for 2WD for a decent price. This is a 2WD and I plan on getting it solid but Im also droppin some money in cosmetic crap cuz this truck is worth it. Aside from some minor body work, this truck was almost mint when I got it. So I guess maybe I cheated a little but it helps to learn about your truck when you dont have to beat 2 inches of rust off of it just to find what youre looking for. I hate body lifts too but at the moment $200 is sounding way better than $1100. If she were 4x4 we'd be playin in a different ballpark all together.
But on another note, thanks for the advice and the part number. Thats gonna come in handy. I really appreciate it.

Only problem I had with the CC844's was my alignment. My shop did it for like $360. The alignment was way off after the install and they had to use some extreme camber bushings to straighten it out.

I put a 3 inch body lift on my 92 F150 2WD (daily driver). I haven't had any problems since I put the lift in a few months ago and as long as you do it right, it will be fine.

Man, I really appreciate the help. This has been the best place for me to find information about my truck. After shopping around for awhile, I've decided to go with a 6" suspension lift from Rough Country. They got it for $489. Comes with everything but the alignment bushings. It's listed as a 6" lift but its actually only a 4. It lifts the front up 6" but the rear only 4. But for the price, its plenty for what I need and I feel like this is the best way to go. Thanks fellas!
