finally time to ask to decode my vin

well i know ive been on here for two years and havent asked if anyone can decode my vin numbers on my 64 i do not have the on on my door panel because it is not the orginal door pannel so here here is my vin
f10jr411872 i do know it was made in san jose CA

F10= F series 2WD 1/2 ton truck
J= 223 6 cylinder engine
R= San Jose Assy plant
411872= May 1963...1963 model year truck

thanks camper special 65 the title says its a 64 and im guessing the owner did not like the 223 cuse it now has a 292 in it

Depending on the state it was originally sold in, it may have been titled a 64 as thats the year it was first sold. to the best of my knowledge Wa and Or both titled cars based on model year from the mfr.

i checked in the glove box and didnt have anything with any info anywhere else i could look

The earlier trucks had the data plate riveted to the inside of the glovebox door...the 2 holes you see in the glovebox door are for this purpose...

i did see those holes you where talking about they where their but no plate

To install 292 in place of 223 the front engine mount has to be installed. Either cut one off V8 frame or fabricate one. Check for warrenty number on frame its above front axle on rite frame rail on top. Wire brush off and see if matches tag on door.

Check the frame vin to see if it is the same as the title..............

You will find it on top of the rail just aft of the passenger shock mount and a second Stamping under hte cab about mid point.
