Anybody ever done a CFI swap?

I was just wondering if anybody here, specifically those with 302's or 351W's had ever done a CFI swap from an '80s Ford car? I'd like to have the reliability of fuel injection, but I really don't like the EFI on the '85 and '86 trucks. Is this swap even feasible? My aunt has a 1985 Lincoln Town Car with the 302 and it looks to use the same intake as the 2bbl versions, unlike Chevy's and their TBI's. Even if I had to swap intakes it may be worth it, but am I potentially just day dreaming a bit here?

Now, should this swap actually be a good one, and I find a donor pretty cheap, what all would I have to get? I'm pretty good with electronics and such, so it shouldn't be much of a problem to get it working, but just what all would I need? Thanks for any and all input!

P.S., sorry if I have been a bit of a "user" here lately, but I'd really just love to get this truck back into top shape and make it more drive-able and user friendly.

You can probably do it, but my personal feeling, if I am going to have the potential electronics issues with fuel injection, I want all the benefits, not just part of them. If you don't like the 85-86 truck system, move up to a newer system, just leave the EEC box where the 85-86 one sits. You could even use the car setup, like the newer Ford, Lincoln and Mercury used, The sedan puts the throttle body on the driver's side, Mustangs put it on the passenger side. The cars used a sequential system even on speed density. There are probably more of those floating around than CFI systems.

I did a 1986 Mustang 5.0 SEFI swap and love the results. Best thing I ever did for my pickup. I did it back in 1999 and there wasn't nearly as much info available as of now but my mistakes were few. It is best to start with a running car with all components and wiring intack.

I think there is a partial view of my engine in my album.

I did look in to the CFI setup once for a 302 swap in to my 89 Bronco2.

I recall there are some diffrences between the carb and TBI mounting. A simple adaptor would work around that. The rest of the wiring and sensors should swap over. Then you have to deal with the fuel pumps and lines. After taking in this account I just keeped the carb on and lowered the floats.
