Always hot power in the rear

Is there something I can tap into that for power that will be on when ever the truck is?

I would think the trailer-brake hookup would be a good choice, but IDK.

If you have a 7 pin trailer plug, Yes. One of the pins is for trickle charging a battery in the trailer.

That's an interestingly worded question thread title. But to actually answer it I would agree with the others I would look at tapping something in the 7 pin trailer lines. There is an "accessory" wire that should be hot at key on.

So trickle charge... Will it be 12v all the time?

Like everyone has already said....the battery charge wire at your 7 pin plug will have 12v power....
You 'might' need to install the relays in order for that to work. Sometimes the relays can be found in a plastic bag along with a trailer brake controller harness. (behind the seat or in the glovebox). Some trucks shipped with the relays installed....other shipped with the relays in a bag in the cab and some trucks didn't come with them at all.

Just an FYI in case you find that you don't have any power back there when you check that wire....

Well it all worked! I knew the 7 Pin would be functional because the PO used it when towing. The 7Pin weather cover actually has a diagram on it I just used a handy dandy inline splice 'T' thingy and it worked great!
