I'm new here as well and have learned more in the past few days than I ever thought I would.

I have the exact same X as you and am investigating replacing my steering wheel as well. I do not know about the Navigator wheel being interchangable, but that would be very interesing if it was. I'm definitly going to watch your thread to see what people say.

The Navigator steering wheel is 100% interchangeable. So is the Lincoln Blackwood wheel if you have an '05 and can find one of those wheels.

I see no reason why a '07 wheel wouldn't work on both of your trucks. As far as I know, they use the same mounting style. '08 and up, that's a different story. But it should work for up to a '07.

If you just have the cruise buttons and want to add the radio, use the wiring part from this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...xs-how-to.html

It is possible to find a decent Navigator wheel, you just have to search for a little while and ask for pictures a lot. They made quite a few Navigators, but not so many Blackwoods. I only searched for maybe a week or two for a Navigator wheel, but it took me about three months to finally find a Blackwood wheel. I was lucky that it was in relatively good shape, because it was the first moderately priced one that came up in a new listing.

So if navigator wheels work shouldn't F-150 wheels work too. I have an XLT with only the cruise in the wheel instead of cruise and audio. I have also heard the wheel crosses over from the Econoline vans too.

I'm pretty sure they would, for a '97-'03 F-150 or pretty much any Econoline like '97 to present. Both of those models never had the radio controls, but I think the F-150 went all the way from a basic vinyl wheel with no buttons through leather with the cruise only buttons. I think the Econoline had/has the basic through vinyl with the cruise buttons.

I put the navigator wheel on mine a long time ago. Im not 100% of the years but the newer trucks have a different spline count on the steering shaft. Thats why I went with the navigator wheel. Plus, I wanted the wood. I bought it on ebay for $65. brand new. A dealer had it sitting on the shelf and wanted it out.

Several people sell replacement leather covers for the Ford steering wheels. They can useually be found on e-bay. If the steering wheel is cleaned up and a new cover installed they look almost new as far as I am concerned. A new King Ranch steering wheel I would think is high dollar.

are you talking about those junk covers that go over the steering wheel or an actual replacement leather piece for the steering wheel.

No Sir, I'm referring to the leather covers that are stiched on the wheel they look OEM. Actually at one time the covers could be ordered from Ford. May still be able to get them. I know my friend this summer ordered a bucket seat cover for his 99 Ford P.U. which was leather 'Bottom part" and he paid about 100.00 for it.
One might just check with NumberDummy on this site for the part number.
