Smog check
We'll as i have said before. Both my friends have been hit with the new smog inspection. Now it's my turn. My truck is still almost all stock besides a 6637. Should i put the stock box back in for this inspection ? I have no SES light, so I think there should not be any problem..
Anyone know of a place around ventura that dose this inspection ?
Any other input guys ??

I too must get my 2000 PSD smog checked by the end of February thanks to the greedy and wasteful State of California...
My 'Service Engine' light is illuminated and I know this is grounds for a fail or no testing at all. When I ran the code on my OBDII it translates to a faulty #6 glow plug. I cleared the codes, but the dash light comes back on a short time later. Is there a way to 1. Keep the dash light off long enough for testing purposes? 2. Will the test station still know of the faulty glow plug? 3. Can the glow plug connector be jumpered to appear OK to a tester?
This condition has existed for a few years. I live in sunny So Cal and have never had any starting issues. I really didn't want to break into the VC's and do the GP job until more of them had gone south...Thanks, Gary

Unless they get a rahtard Smog Tech who will fail for using anything other than stock. But quite simply, CARB left plenty of wiggle room for modest "daily driver" modding.

DP-Tuner has even applied for CARB exemption, and I believe that if a company has applied for exemption they are granted exempt status until their application is denied.. Dont quote me on that, but I thought I read that somewhere. Either way, put it in stock and its perfectly fine.

I have no problem telling the smog tech how everything on my truck is perfectly compliant.

The F5/F6 chip is not CARB allowed.
