Installing an amp - how to get power wire through the firewall?

I'm installing an amp in my 97 B4000 and need to get a power wire from the battery to the extended cab portion. Any ideas/suggestions/proven methods of getting a 8ga power wire through the firewall without drilling? It looks like I *might* be able to share the hood latch release grommet but it maybe not. That's my main question. I'm also open to suggestions for mounting and grounding the amp. I do not want to mount it to the sub - vibrations = bad, plus it's one-stop shopping for potential thieves. Thanks.

There are grommets in the floor pans you can use. Both my amps power wires went through the firewall grommet though, it's a tight fit, but it will work

When looking at your pedals, just to the right of the E brake on the firewall, there will be other wires going through there

Haven't used it for wiring, but when I was welding up my rockers (at the bottom of extended cab) I noticed there was an oval grommet near the bottom of the door pillar, towards the front of the extended cab section.

Glad to help. I have a 4 gauge and 8 gauge power wires running through that grommet along with all my other cables

I can see daylight through it. Do you have any issues because it's not watertight?
