73-79 donor trucks

Hi folks,
I am looking at a 77 donor this weekend for my 70 swb.

PS, PB, front discs are the main goal. I would like to stay with my 2v 302, vs the 400 auto that the 77 has.

I saw some posts about swapping the body to the newer series. It makes sense as I have no sentimental attachment to the truck, only the style. What would be the easiest to do time and labor wise? Not sure yet if the 77 is a swb, so that may make the decision. If it isn't I can always wait on one to come along. I have decent fabrication skills.

thanks for your opinions!

my personal opinion- it'd be easier to pull the ibeams off the 77 and put them on the 70 than it would be to do a body and engine swap.

are both trucks automatics?

in that case, you're most likely going to have to swap columns when you install the power steering, which means you'd need to install a floorshift.

(or find one of the kinda rare 3-speed p/s columns.)

the column shaft lengths are different between the p/s and manual steering trucks.
