I think some guys use the mustang smog pump delete pulley.

Awesome that you got all the good stuff. Keep us informed. I'm interested in how you like the punisher vb. I was just looking that up a week ago before I took some time off.
Id like to get a new tq converter but that's not in the budget for money or time. I flushed my trans fluid and I wanted to do a shift kit or vb for when I do my fluid again but to a good quality brand (maybe synthetic)

How much was the trans command and where did you get it.

It was about280 I think. Banks requires that you get it with the torque converter

New questions on 460 project!

Anybody know where I can get stock specs and/or wear limit measurements for the crank journals, rod bearings, and main bearings? Since I am pulling the motor I am going to check these, and replace the oil pump.

Next,
Since I am using the banks torque tubes, do I still need the shields around the spark plugs? (Mine broke off just from rusting through the brackets)

And,
Since I am getting the Banks Billet torque converter, with the Transcommand computer, as well as a Punisher valve body; Will there be any antagonism of the new valve body and the transcommand which increases pressure? Or will there be none, or some improvement?

Finally,
How the hell do you get the EGR, and A.I.R. fittings out of the manifold?

This is where I'm at now:

I've gone to the local engine machine shop and asked them many times for size measurements on rod and main bearings.

Lots of heat are nessisary to get the eve stuff apart.

Heat shields for plugs are nice but I don't remember them working with my headers.

The trans command may need to be a lower setting with the vb but I'm not sure. The vb mechanically increases pressure and trans command electronically raises it. There may be a conflict there. I know on my 4r100 you need different programming in your chip when you use a modified vb. hopefully others jump in and give real experience.

Before I got any farther I tested the compression. It had between163 and170 on all cylinders. Is this normal for 200k?

Still looking for answers on my previous questions

Seems good to me. I've had a strong 460 only get just over 120 psi.
I'd say your rings and valves are sealing fine. You can add a little oil to the cylinder and spin it over a few times to lube the cyl walls. Then do another compression test. If it gets way more compression then you have weak rings or non sealing valves.

I wouldn't be running the Banks trans command with the valve body. My Punisher VB works Excellent all by its self.

HELP! My Banks torque converter is a 6 bolt and my stock one is4 bolt! Banks said it would fit, but after four hours of research I have yet to find any 460 with a 6 bolt flex plate.

I've never heard of a 6 bolt torque converter.
Seems like banks dropped the ball on that one. Are you sure it's for the e4od. Or did they send you the wrong one and they have it documented wrong. Have you put the tq converter in your trans yet. Does it fit in there

Quick search
6 bolt converters are used in the powerstroke diesel 4r100s. Not sure if the psd e4od has it also but that may be the issue.
Count the splines inside the converter and see if it's correct

Current status: I'm down to a short block, I'm going to replace every gasket, ring, and bearing in the motor, with the only exception being the cam bearings. I bought two cases of carb cleaner, so it'll be all cleaned up and then oiled up when it goes back together. Hopefully have the motor reassembled in a week(2-3 hours/day).

My new Circle D. 12" billet 2200-2300 stall

before I took the pistons out. Keep in mind this was a perfectly good motor...

air pump delete pulley?

Does anyone know if the A/C delete pulley will work for the air pump bracket? I can't seem to find the mustang one that everyone talks about.

How about cleaning pistons?

I'm also trying to get 200k worth of carbon/burnt crap off of my pistons. I've been using a fine wire wheel on the bench grinder and on a dremel, but this wear out the aluminum if I hit it at the wrong angle or push too hard on the edges. What else will get them clean enough to put back in?
