Wow, no other responses on this. I would check SCT's website or Diablo, I just checked Edges website, and they have a tuner, but it sure didnt look the purdiest...Not that that matters. Im a fan of the Edge products. Usually, you can get new tunes put on these tuners instead of just using the canned tunes, make sure to check which ones do. Otherwise, your truck is one of the newest fuel efficient models unless you go to an ecoboost f150. I wasnt being a jerk, but the Ecoboost F150 can tow a maximum of 11300lbs and has a maximum payload of 3120lbs, whereas your F250 can tow a maximum of 12500lbs and has a maximum payload of 3070lbs. Sure its not quite as much capacity, but it gets 15 city and 21 highway...Plus its turbocharged so that definitely leaves it open for the aftermarket with tuners for extra power and fuel mileage etc...I think it would be the truck I would go for if I had the dough. Because honestly, even after I mod my truck, it would leave me in the dust in every category. Otherwise, good luck with your search.

the new F-150 is a beast...but it still isn't a Superduty. You can only take a 1/2 ton so far and then you are driving a 3/4 or 1 ton...there is a huge difference between the 150 and 250/350

as far as mileage, a tuner CAN...maybe...MIGHT! get you better MPG. I've always had to add a blower to get better MPG's. The extra power you get from tuning does make the motor more efficient, but then usually poeple can't keep foot out of it

also, you're going to spend about $300-400 on a tuner. It'll take alot of gas to offset any MPG savings you'll get after dropping that kind of $$$.

It has been asked many times. Tuners might help a little bit if you can stay out of the gas. What the tuners will do is help with the throttle lag and give a little more power.

What you have is a big truck to do work not run and get groceries and and movies looking cool. Will you be able to tow 12-15K #s...yes, will you be able to carry 2-3k #s...yes, Will you pay at the pump... yes. That's what you bought.

If gas mileage and a truck is what you where after a F150 would probably have been a better choice.

I broke down and got myself a tuner from mike at 5 star tuning. I'm very happy with it. I picked up 1.5mpg (up to 15.1 mostly highway). And with the performance/towing tune it's got a little extra kick.

I agree, but I disagree. The towing specs dont lie. Also, if you have watched the torture tests that ford publicized on their website for the Ecoboost, you might be surprised. The truth is trucks have come so far powerwise that many people are switching from diesels to gas. 10-20 years ago a gas f350 SRW could tow 10k lbs if it had a headwind and haul a payload of around 3k lbs...Nowadays a F350 can tow 25% more than that and haul closer to 50% more. The 1/2 tons have made the same strides and tow/haul way more than ever before. I mean since when do half ton pickups have these kind of ratings? There definitely are cases where a modern f250/350 is needed, but I dont think most people need them as much as they think if they were to look closely at what the 1/2 tons can actually do. Seeing as how the phrase 1/2 ton is really a misnomer nowadays. They can haul way way more than a half ton. Just throwing it out there... better mileage and great towing capacity...why not?

I agree completely that improvements are always being made. But did they also beef up the axle on the F150s? My dad's f150 cut a 1/2 groove in the axle where the bearing are from pulling over sized loads. It definitely has the punch to pull it...in the engine.

i have an 09 reg cab long bed with 5.4 and 3:73's also . i have been getting steady 14.5 local (without driving like i stole it - if i do i am in the mid 12's) and just yesterday 15.6 cruise control on highway set at 72 only mods are air raid thottle body spacer, k+n drop in, modified stock intake tube, superchips flashpac set to mileage xs tune. only a tool box in the bed not towing anything. i am sure this will change next week when i install jba headers and dual 2.5 inch exhaust . reset your mileage rate by selecting it and then hold selector in will reset to 0.0 and try driving like a grandma without road rage and watch it climb-- then reset and drive normal you will see the difference! just remember when driving like a granny leave 30 minutes earlier !!!!!
