All ready for winter

Got her all washed and waxed up and ready for the snow. Might be the last time to get some wax on the truck until warmer weather comes around. My truck don't fit in the garage and I don't have a place to pull it in either. But it sure does look nice when clean.

Lol, I did the same thing. Washing / waxing the truck is the same as playing God. You will inevitably bring on the rain/snow now

waxing this truck all in one sitting sure is taxing. I've just been waxing a differnt portion of my truck at a time, each time I give it a bath in the driveway.

If you are putting it up for good for the winter months and want to keep some of the elements off of it, you might want to look into a weatherproof car cover. you can pick up a quality Coverking Stormproof cover for the truck for about $500-$600.

kmonty2 -- Yeah looks good. What wax products did you use? What it difficult? And...about how long did it take?

Just curious...

I went over mine twice with NUFinish wax. Its been around forever and got great reviews and doesnt leave the white residue behind like other brands. I use Zymol for my classic car.

This time I used Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0, it is a synthetic wax which last longer then the carnauba does. Usually I put on the synthetic was for longer protection then put on the carnuba was for the better shine and deep wet look it gives. Just didn't have time to put on both. Takes about 1.5 hours for the synthetic wax since it's put on and take off with very little wait time before removal. I have not found any was better then Meguiar's wax, no matter what it is they seem to be the best. The carnuba was takes longer since you have to wait longer for it to dry, but the colder it is out the longer it takes. Total time with wash and wax, about 2.5 hours. It take about 2 hours just to rotate the tires, but that includes cleaning in the wheel wells and the tires on both sides with wax on the inside of the rime to help keep some of the brake dust come off easier.
