Pics of lifted 2wd?
Hey yall im looking on lifting my 89 F250 2wd bout 6 inches, and i had so much trouble looking for a lift kit for my truck 2wd, all i could find was a 3 inch body lift. BUT luckily i found this awesome site that has a 6 inch skyjacker lift for 2wd! 80-96 Ford F250-F350 2WD 6" Skyjacker Lift Kit @Top Gun Customz Im not a hardcore mudder cause if i was i would have bought a 4wd, but im doing it mainly for looks and the feeling of riding high. I have some 36 in mickey thompson baja claws waiting in my garage until i get the lift cause they definately wont fit stock height im currently running 33s and they rub. If any of yall can share pics of your lifted 2wds and even 4wds. Thanks!

why have un-equall lift heights from front to back???

Well good, that's what i was shooting for. as it sits right now, measured at the top of the fender well, the front is a quarter inch shorter than the rear still, which is unnoticeable.

IMHO, i agree with you. You really can't wheel with a 2wd. OP said he could hardly find a lift kit for it. There is a reason for it, there's isn't a market for lifted 2wd trucks. I don't understand why people want to jack a truck up just for the look of it. you might as well invest in glue on hood scoops and flame decals. Glue on hood scoops, 10 horsepower, flame decals, 5 horsepower a piece

I can understand leveling out the front end of a 2wd, to make it look better, but jacking it up so and so inches and such is a bit over the top, 1-2 inches total lift, plus level kit i think looks decent. I've done some amazing things with my truck before it burned down, and it was 2wd..You just need to know how to distribute weight in the bed evenly.

I have seen complete idiots POUNDING the shiz out of their 2wd trucks trying to go where they should not be going using speed and momentum to get over and through things because with a 2wd thats their only chance, its stupid. Besides a 4wd truck IS A 2WD TRUCK until you decide to lock in the front hubs.

I should throw in a disclaimer. If you are comparing a 600 HP 2wd truck with paddle tires in the sand dunes of GLAMIS that weighs 2200 lbs versus a stock 302 powered 4wd F-150 with 200 hp that weighs 4500 lbs then yeah the 2wd is gonna spank the 4wd.

im not a fan of 2 wheel drive trucks but if he doesnt need 4x4 and just likes the looks of a 4x4 why waste money on a 4x4. and mileage should be better. show us your pics when you lift it.

Well, those of you with stock dana/sterling axles in your 4x4's are posers too.
Because real off-roaders use rockwells or custom fabricate a four-corner independent suspension with frame-mounted pumpkins.
So AkFord4x4, YOU POSER! (big grin)
Teasing aside, we all know the automotive world is full of different people. Some focus on function, some on form, some a mix. Some can 'only' tolerate having a big block feeding a set of oversized glasspacks. Others like to ride high, some like to ride low. Some like solid colors and some like zebra stripes. Some like chrome and others blacken everything out.
While you or I may not see the functional purpose in lifting a 2wd truck you and I can probably appreciate that a lifted truck does look cool if done right. To me, lifting a 2wd truck is a styling change - no different than installing cool mirrors or a Lund viser or a wicked bumper or whatever else we can think of.
Around where I am (northern NJ) I see an awful lot of garage kept, never seen a flake of snow, over-waxed "sissy trucks" - immaculate F350 crewcabs, sometimes dually and diesel too - yet they're used solely as commuter vehicles or grocery getters. Totally not the "right" vehicle for that purpose. But, if someone enjoys driving their F350 crewcab diesel dually to church every Sunday, who am I to pass judgment.

Haha.
I just see a lifted 2wd cherokee with 32-33s on it.
It was hilarious because on them it's the same setup as 4wd only without a pumpkin. So you could clearly see it was just a strait tube in front.
Funny funny.
Anyway. I kinda like the ford 2wd prerunner look.
Go for it. I just think these trucks look mean with minimal lift and knobby tires
