93 f250 4x4 diesel 5 speed question

I found a 93 F250 diesel that has a blown engine. My question is what other engines fit the bolt pattern of that tranny. If it is only BB engines does the bell housing on the trany come off?

I have been quietly looking for a truck for the last 1&1/2 years

Thanks guys.

Other F-150, F-250 or F-350 from (89 - 97) should share the same bolt pattern, but from what i have read (and i'm not even sure of this), the relations on the diesel engine ZF5 (your tranny) don't work fine on gas trucks, so i guess you're limited to other F-250 or F-350 with a diesel (it doesn't matter if it has a auto tranny).

The diesel has a bolt pattern all it's own.

The 4.9L 300 cu in, 5.0L 302 cu in, and 5.8L 351 cu in, use one bellhousing bolt pattern. And the 7.5L 460 cu in. has one of it's own.

I'm assuming the 5 speed will be the ZF 5, and it's bellhousing is NOT removable.

Gee, I'm just a party pooper ain't I?

nope. diesel transmissions will only fit diesel engines, and do not have a removable bellhousing unless it is a 4 speed tran used in 87 and older trucks.

Thanks after thinking about is since the 7.3 those years were from IH and the 4.6 - 5.8 & 7.5 engines are all Ford castings it makes sense. Looks like the truck didn't last long on craigslist.
Thanks.
