Add-A-Leaf on 2WD Works Well! Over 2 inch Lift

Just installed a set of ProComp Add-A-Leafs to the rear leaf packs of my 2000 2WD 5.4 X. Not an easy task to do, took most of the day. However, in the end it lifted the rear end 2 1/8 inches! The truck looks great, and rides great. Handles better. ProComp model is 13128, and I highly recommend. Not sure if you can beat a 2 inch lift for $100.

I really thought I might actually get an inch. But they were right, got the 2 inches. The actual ride feels the same to me, but it handles better around turns, doesnt sway as much as it used to.

I wonder the difference in rear springs on the 2wd vs. 4wd? What would that do on a 4x4?

Not sure. Does the 4x4 have a leafpack like the 4x2?

No pics?

Does your 2wd have a rear sway bar? I am gonna be doing some suspension stuff with my 2wd but I want it to sit flat. I'm not a fan of huge rake.

I'd like a 2" lift myself. What's the answer for lifting the front the same amount?

I'm wondering how adding a small leaf would work on the front of a 4WD, I only need another inch so it won't bottom out as easily.

I had the local spring shop add a leaf to the front and rear and got about what everyone else is saying. It raised it between 2"-3" both front and rear.

Pay very close attention to the thread links I posted in post number 21. Clearancing of the ball joints will be needed.

Computer controlled by Ford at the factory. 2-wheel drive trucks have the same rear springs as 4-wheel drive trucks, it just depends on which spring Ford put on them.

I know my 2-wheel drive F250 had the same OEM rear spring as my 4x4 Excursion before I did the swap.
