Where are you located? Post your location in the upper right hand corner and someone might be close enough to drop off a spare.

I'm surprised Mac's didn't have the correct one. Are you sure they sent you the one for the truck?

'49-53 car:

or maybe the rear fitting for a '48-56 truck:

Here's the one for the MC:

I havent tried any of the sources listed. The one I need is just like the last picture, which is the one I got, but its like the smaller version. Same design, just too small!!

I'd say the axle swap is the way to go. I'm bolting in a dana 60 out of a 1966 f250 tomorrow hopefully, I'll be posting up some pictures as well. So far it all measures out right, it should come out okay, looks like the driveshaft might be to long now though. I couldnt even find a set of those 14 inch drums to put on there, the newer axle is much easier to get parts for. Good luck with the hunt, and welcome to the form. Nice truck too, btw.

I think, but not sure, the F-4 and up use a larger block than the F-1 and F-2. Maybe the F-3 uses the same block as the larger trucks. I might have some from parts trucks I've torn apart. If I can find them to compare I'll let you know.

Maybe the guys with the larger trucks can check theirs.

In the attached album (see link) I took some photos of what I had verses what I bought. The "new bolt" fits the "old block" The new block is just too small. they must have made them bigger for the bigger trucks. Ideas? I find companys who sell them however I dont want to buy the wrong one! Line thread size on the truck is 7/16x20.

I was looking at those photos. What is wrong with the original one? It looks good in the picture. Is it stripped? I would use it if there is nothing wrong with it. It's brass, and it looks pretty clean. Soak it in some carb cleaner or whatever.
Just suggesting...thats all. But if you need mine, let me know.
